Arts Victoria with the City of Melbourne and the University of Melbourne:
Branding and communications
Transforming the arts precinct
In 2012 and into 2013 Streamer was invited to develop an identity and prospectus for the Melbourne Arts Precinct Blueprint – a road map for precinct planners, architects, communities, developers and partners.
The project involved a high level of stakeholder engagement throughout the process and the development of a clear storyboard with messaging to incorporate several different strategies, summaries and design frameworks.
The Blueprint became the overarching bridging document to enable effective communication with a broad audience - from Arts Precinct leaders, investors and funders through to the media.
We liaised with the project architects and the Blueprint Working Group to design, develop and art direct imagery, maps and visualisations of the precinct as an active and vibrant place by day and night.
As many of the ideas were aspirational and difficult to describe, our method enabled ideas to be expressed visually and through a story around the evolution of the area from the Arts Centre Melbourne to the Melbourne Theatre Company and the Victorian College of the Arts.
The Blueprint received excellent media coverage and has been well received as a platform for hundreds of new projects to sprout through urban design, landscape design, new buildings and spaces, initiatives and events.
